This design is copyrighted.  Commercial use (as in reselling or manufacturing) of this design will be viewed in an unusually poor light and may result in litigation.  That said, ANY person may feel free to construct and GIVE AWAY an antenna based upon this design or a copy off the design itself, unless it is being used to promote a commercial product or service.  If for example a vendor wished to incorporate this antenna design as part of their documentation with appropriate attribution to the designer and this web site. I would not take issue.  If on the other hand the vendor were to lay out the design on their packing material such that the end user could build one by cutting it from the box, I believe I would file suit as I (the designer) intend to build/lease the design commercially.  Please respect the research and time I have invested in improving and simplifying this design. I will defend it. I am a reasonable man and I am easily contacted.

Advantages over other antennas such as the Pringles Can Antenna

  1. No Pigtail Required
  2. No Modification to AP (No voiding of warranty)
  3. No Matching (SWR) Problems
  4. No Purchased Parts
  5. Trivially Easy Construction
  6. Very Low Probability of Error
  7. Superior Front to Back/Front to Rear Ratio
  8. Improves Wireless LAN Privacy
  9. Reduces Interference
Basically this antenna is so easy to make, tune, and install, and it performs so well that it is foolish not to try one before electing to purchase a commercial antenna, if for no other reason than you can check to see if you are purchasing enough commercial antenna to make the link you want to make.

This is a nice performing little reflector. It has superb front-to-back and front-to-rear ratio. It is quick and easy to make with available materials. Total construction time is fifteen to thirty minutes.
